- About The Author
- Dr Jill Gould is an Assistant Subject Lead in Children's, Midwifery, and Professional Practice at the University of Derby, providing strategic leadership and expertise across post-registration and postgraduate programmes. She is an experienced nurse, academic, and researcher with expertise in community nursing and prescribing practice. She began her Nursing career in Canada before moving to the UK, where she specialised in District Nursing and prescribing, later progressing into senior academic roles and attaining the title of Queen's Nurse. Her work integrates practice, teaching, and research, with a focus on prescribing, motivational interviewing, assessment and feedback pedagogies, person-centred care, and the ethical, legal, and professional dimensions of advanced and specialist practice. Her research and publication interests include consultation models, prescribing, and inclusive practice to address health inequalities and promote person-centred education and healthcare.
