Irish writer Claire Keegan was born in Wicklow, and studied English and Political Science at Loyola University, Louisiana, and Creative Writing at the University of Wales, Cardiff. Her stories have been translated into 30 languages and appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, The Paris Review and Best American Stories. Her 2021 novel Small Things Like These was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and her Foster was the inspiration for the critically acclaimed Irish language film An Cailín Ciúin (The Quiet Girl).
