The EFC, incorporated in Belgium, was founded in 1955 with the purpose of promoting European co-operation in the fields of research into corrosion and corrosion prevention. The corrosion of steel reinforcement in concrete is a serious problem on a worldwide scale. The EFC has addressed this problem by forming a Working Party related to the subject.
