- This book contains auxiliary calculation tools to facilitate the safety assessment of reinforced concrete sections. Essential parameters in the design to the ultimate limit state of resistance such as the percentage of reinforcement and the position of the neutral axis in concrete cross-sections, as well as the control of the maximum stresses in service limit states are provided by these tools. Carla Ferreira is professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Coimbra, Portugal. Her research interests focus on reinforced concrete structural analysis. Joaquim Figueiras was professor at the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP), Portugal. Mário Pimentel is professor at the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP), Portugal. His research interests focus on structural concrete analysis and design, constitutive modelling of cement based materials, SHM, and ultra-high performance fibre-reinforced cementitious composites.
