- About The Author
- Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was a leading American poet who did not achieve fame until after her lifetime. Her unconventional lifestyle saw her never marry, rarely entertain guests and spend almost all her time writing her poetry, of which only a few saw publication while she was alive. After her death, it was discovered that she had written more than 1700 poems and she has remained popular ever since.
