- Book Synopsis
- The organic, curvilinear designs of Art Nouveau influenced painting, architecture, and sculpture but made their most lasting impression on the decorative arts. This volume combines two rare and important early 20th-century portfolios to present nearly 200 full-color stained glass designs. Featuring chiefly the works of Arnold Lyongrün, the book also includes authentic, royalty-free designs by Raoul Bacard, René Beauclair, Rudolf Geyling, and other masters.
- About The Author
- German artist Ernst Arnold Lyongrün (18711935) was an Impressionist painter and a practitioner of the Jugendstil or Art Nouveau style of decorative arts. His many patterns for ornamental arts and crafts include the compilations Decorative Motifs from the Natural World (1899) and New Ideas for Decorative Arts, which reside in New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art collections. M. J. Gradl (1873-1934) was a German designer, architect, painter, and designer of jewelry.
