- About The Author
- Born in Tours, France in 1799, Honoré de Balzac wrote a short stories and plays as well as novels. Some of his most popular works include The Human Comedy, Le Père Goriot and Cousin Bette among others. He became well-known for his depictions of daily life, customs, social relations and love. Balzac died aged 51 in August 1850.
