Jan Brierton writes in a direct, open style that makes these poems easy to enter without flattening their emotional weight. The collection moves through grief, frustration, humour and tenderness with real honesty.
Taking its name from her popular podcast, EVERYBODY IS A POEM is a compact collection of poems about love, loss, aging, the mental load, menopause and everything in between.
With a wink and rhyme, Jan delivers her second collection of poems written with a combination of humour, wit and poignancy. Plain speaking and relatable, these new poems are the Dublin mam of two saying it as she sees it.
- About The Author
- Jan Brierton is a freelance fashion stylist from Dublin. When COVID restrictions led Jan to assume the full-time role of teacher, playground chaperone, cook, cleaner and general entertainer she was inspired to write and share a poem about her experience. Her first book What Day Is It? Who Gives a F*ck, a collection of her lockdown poems, was published in 2021 by New Island Books. Jan lives in Killester, Dublin with her husband Austin and children Willow and Theo.
