Discount and promotion codes

From time to time, we run discount codes through newsletters or third parties. Unless stated otherwise, the following terms apply:

• Discount codes are valid on easons.com only.
• Discounts do not apply to eVoucher purchases or products excluded from specific promotions.
• LEGO, Tonies, selected Pokémon products and computer or audio ranges are excluded from promotions and discount codes.
• Discount codes are not valid in Eason retail or franchise outlets.
• Postage and delivery charges are excluded.
• Discount codes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, including online exclusive prices, percentage discount offers or value price offers.
• Products with a promotional price sticker already have a discount applied and are not eligible for a further promotion code discount.
• Only one discount code or online offer can be used per order.
• We reserve the right to cancel any order or withdraw or extend any promotion at our discretion.
• Discount codes must be entered in the basket at the time of purchase and cannot be applied retrospectively.
• Offers are time-bound and end at midnight unless stated otherwise.
• Minimum spends may apply where specified in the promotion.

Percentage off and special price promotions

Special prices and percentage-off promotions are reflected on the item’s product page. Prices shown are the prices after the discount has been applied.

Flash sales

• Flash Sales are valid on easons.com only.
• Flash Sales are not valid in Eason retail or franchise stores.
• The duration of each Flash Sale will be specified in the campaign.
• Offers cannot be applied retrospectively to existing orders.
• Product exclusions may apply.
• Gift Card purchases are excluded.
• Postage and delivery charges are excluded.
• The discount is deducted from the lowest price at which the product has been available for purchase within the 30 days immediately before the start of the Flash Sale.
• Other discount codes cannot be used in conjunction with Flash Sale offers.
• Final prices are as marked on the product page.

Returns and cancellations for promotional orders

Returns or cancellations may result in forfeiture of discounts applied at the time the order was placed, and you may be responsible for payment of any resulting adjustments.

We will exchange any product returned in accordance with our returns policy for an alternative up to the same value, provided the replacement is within the same promotional offer.

If the replacement item is of higher value, the price difference will be charged. If it is of lower value, no refund of the difference will be provided.

If an item is returned and not exchanged, a refund will only apply where the returned item was not given free as part of the promotion, for example the cheapest item in a 3 for 2 offer.

If a return causes the original order to no longer qualify for a promotion, the refund due will be adjusted to remove the promotion discount.

Offers are subject to availability and may be changed or withdrawn without notice by Ofwal Limited at any time.

Pre-order competitions

From time to time, we run competitions in conjunction with publishers as part of a pre-order campaign. Competition details appear on the relevant product page until the release date of the book.

Anyone who pre-orders before the publication date will be entered unless stated otherwise. Only one entry per person per competition will be accepted.

Winners are selected at random from qualifying customers and contacted by email from [email protected].

With the winner’s consent, details will be passed to the publisher so that prize fulfilment can be arranged. Prize winners must be residents of the Republic of Ireland.

The Company may terminate, amend or withdraw a competition or these terms at any time. Prizes are non-negotiable, non-transferable and non-refundable, and no cash alternative is available.

Where a prize becomes unavailable, the promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value. The Company’s decision on all competition matters is final.

Eason Gift Card terms and conditions

Gift Cards can be redeemed online at easons.com or in any Eason retail store. Multiple Gift Cards may be redeemed in a single transaction.

The amount deducted from the Gift Card will correspond to the value of the products and any applicable delivery charges in that transaction, up to the available balance on the card.

Where the total value is less than the available balance, the remaining balance stays on the Gift Card until the expiry date.

Where the total value exceeds the available balance, the customer must pay the outstanding amount using another accepted payment method.

Gift Cards are non-refundable, non-transferable, and may not be exchanged for cash.

Cookies set by third-party websites

We sometimes embed content from third-party websites such as YouTube. When you visit a page with embedded content, you may receive cookies from those sites. easons.com does not control the use of those cookies, and you should check the relevant third-party site for more information.

Social networking sharing tools

easons.com uses embedded share buttons to help users share content through social networks. These sites may set cookies when you are logged into their service. easons.com does not control those cookies.

These platforms may collect information about what you do across the internet, including on easons.com. In some cases, they may register your visit even if you do not click the button, provided you are logged in to their service.

Email tracking

Some emails we send, such as service emails with invoices attached, do not contain tracking features. Other emails, such as newsletters, may include tracking so that we can understand how much traffic those emails send to our site.

We use contact information to notify winners. We do not publish winners’ details on the site. If a survey or competition has a sponsor, we may share entrant information with that sponsor, but only with the user’s consent.

Payment processing

We use Sagepay as our external payment provider for online transactions at easons.com. We require the billing address of the credit card used so that Sagepay can verify it against the cardholder’s details for security purposes.

We only store delivery details where you choose to save them in your Address Book. We do not store credit card details on our server.

Payment data is entered on a secure Sagepay server, and data passed between easons.com servers and Sagepay are encrypted using 128-bit SSL.

Our use of your information

We use personally identifiable information to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, statistically analyse site usage, improve content and product offerings, and customise site content, layout and services.

We use your email address to send newsletters or other communications that you have requested. Promotional emails include an unsubscribe option.

Advertisers and disclosure of your information

We may disclose aggregate personally identifiable information to advertisers and for other marketing and promotional purposes, but not in a form that personally identifies you.

We do not sell or rent personally identifiable information about you to any third party.
