No, don't tell me. I want it to remain a mystery. From the late '70s until early in the 21st century I was lucky enough to travel to places that, as a kid growing up in Neptune, New Jersey, USA in the '50s, I never dreamed I'd one day visit. - Ted Polhemus is an anthropologist who has focused on youth subcultures, style, design and fashion. His books include Fashion & Anti-fashion, Body Styles, The Customized Body, Street Style, Style Surfing and BOOM! - a baby boomer memoir, 1947 - 2022. He was the external curator of the 'Streetstyle' exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London 1994-1995. Ted has been a Beat, a Modernist, a Hippy, a Glam Rocker, a Punk, and a Goth.
