- After teaching history for more years than she will admit, G.C. Blair started writing books for children from years three to thirteen about Serious Subjects like Henry II, Elizabeth I and the United Nations. As much as she loved doing that, there weren't usually enough vampires, stunt princesses or pirates in them. Then whenever she sat down to write about Serious Subjects, Cid, Miss Fitz and Desmond de'Ath's pirate crew started butting in. By the time Vlad, PJ, Wilbur and the others had joined them, G.C. gave in and The Miss Fitz Agency was born.
