- About The Author
- Karl Marx was born in Prussia in 1818 but spent most of his adult life in London. He developed a revolutionary interpretation of economics and history that he expounded in Das Kapital. Friedrich Engels was another German philosopher, born in 1820, who worked closely with Marx after the publication of his own theories in The Condition of the Working Class in England. Marx died in 1883 and Engels in 1895 - both of them before they could see their theories become reality in the Russian Revolution.
