- About The Author
- LAURA HAWRYLUCK received her MD from the University of Western Ontario where she served her Internal Medicine residency. She completed a Fellowship in Critical Care at the University of Manitoba and an MSc. in Bioethics from the University of Toronto, Canada. Professor of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Toronto, she was awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for contributions to Canada in improving end of life care, the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto award for contributions to medicine and law, and the University of Toronto Interdepartmental Critical Care Medicine Humanitarian Award for her contributions to international humanitarian work. She is the author of two other poetry books "An ICU Doctor's Reflections" and "Words that Matter" published by Olympia Publishers.
