- Book Synopsis
- There Once Was a Cowgirl is a deliciously fun twist on the classic "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly"-this time with a Texas-sized appetite and a cowgirl who just can't resist fair food! It all begins with some cake, but soon she's gobbling up corndogs, chili chips, cider, and more in a wild, laugh-out-loud chain reaction. Set against the backdrop of the iconic Texas State Fair-famous for its food and festivities-this playful picture book bursts with rhythm, rhyme, and rodeo flair. The story's joyfully chaotic journey comes to life through vibrant paper-and-fabric collage illustrations, giving every page texture, color, and charm. Perfect for story time, classrooms, and libraries, There Once Was a Cowgirl is a flavorful celebration of fairs, food, and fun in Texas. With catchy rhymes, a familiar cumulative structure, and eye-catching art, it's a read-aloud kids will want to savor again and again.
