- Book Synopsis
- "NO ONE BLENDS FUNNY WITH SWEET LIKE DAN ELISH!"
- Billy Aronson, Emmy winning co-creator of PBS Kids' PEG + CAT

Ten-year-old Amara Gutterson dreams of winning the prestigious Worldwide Dessert Contest, the epic event held every year in her hometown of Appleton. When family friend, John Applefeller gives Amara a magical cookbook once owned by the mysterious and brilliant Captain B. Rollie Ragoon (known for making magical treats such as roller-skating apple pies) she is set off on a wild adventure that squares her off against dessert-villain Count Confection, a cheat who has won the contest for ten years running. A long awaited and brilliant follow up to Dan Elish's classic The Worldwide Dessert Contest, Amara's quest to win the famed Silver Spoon will keep readers young and old giggling and on the edge of their seats.

Praise for THE WORLDWIDE DESSERT CONTEST:

"The plot goes down as easily as ice cream and is topped with plenty of laughs, both subtle and broad. Certainly its silliness makes for a pithy read-aloud and a booktalker's dream. Call this delicious."

- Booklist, starred review

"Elish writes with a sure hand of this sugary world, his tongue squarely in the area of his sweet tooth. For his ability to praise desserts in an endlessly original fashion, he deserves a blue ribbon."

- Publisher's Weekly
