- Book Synopsis
- Ride off into a world of adventure with four classic novels in the beloved series featuring "the most famous fictional horse of the century" (The New York Times). Walter Farley's tales of bravery, instinct, and survival have been captivating readers for more than seventy-five years. Here, in a handsome gift set, are four of the best: In The Black Stallion, Alec Ramsay is shipwrecked on a desert island, and must decide whether he can trust a stallion whose beauty matches his wild spirit. In The Black Stallion Returns, a chieftain shows up to claim ownership of the Black Stallion, but Alec isn't ready to let go so quickly. In The Black Stallion Revolts, Alec and the Black are separated in the desert, and the Black joins a wild herd. How will they ever find each other again? And in The Black Stallion's Ghost, Alec rides the Black into a mysterious swamp where he discovers a ghostly gray mare and a strange rider who is not what he seems. It has been more than seventy-five years since the first Black Stallion adventure was published, and it is still literature's most enduring friendship between a boy and his horse.
