Book Synopsis

One of the most frequent medical complaints among travelers is dermatologically related. As many as one in ten people are affected during travel itself with others not experiencing symptoms until well after they have returned from their trip. This book provides comprehensive information on infectious diseases; bacterial, viral, and fungal as well as skin diseases due to physical injuries and or exposure to contaminated foods. It compiles common dermatoses in one place to provide an easy-to-read tool for diagnosis and advice on further investigation and treatment of the skin disease. Featuring contributions from experts around the world, this book covers a wide variety of skin diseases. Where most literature focuses on the various skin issues from traveling to tropical locations, this title is inclusive of dermatoses found in other locales. Chapters also includes tables and figures to illustrate each disease. Skin Disease in Travelers isa must-have resource for for dermatologists, dermatology residents and medical students, and general practitioners.
