This book is my story, but it is a family affair: My father died of prostate cancer, my son has been diagnosed with it and my sister died of ovarian cancer (ongoing research appears to show a link). Like many other books, this is about the journey into the unknown world of prostate cancer: the ups and downs of a killer disease; needing to understand whether it singles out men at random, or whether it is a gene that is inherited, or just develops naturally. Is it a game of chance or can you change the odds? I hope this personal account can give you a window into the challenge of identifying prostate cancer before it happens or hope for those already on the journey.
