- About The Author
- Bugville Learning is a creation of Robert Stanek, who also writes as William Stanek. Mr. Stanek wrote professionally for over 30 years. In 2020, he celebrated the publication of his 250th book and 20 millionth reader. That's a lot of books, a lot of years of writing, and a lot of readers, making him one of the most prolific and popular writers of all time. His books have been published and/or distributed by every major US publisher, and over 100 other publishers globally. Writing as Robert Stanek, he was the first breakout author of the digital publishing revolution. Writing as William Stanek, he is credited with transforming the computer writing industry with his plain language style. A style that Microsoft eventually adopted for its own. Millions of training courses taught by Microsoft and others around the world used his words as their foundations to teach hundreds of millions new techniques, new technologies and new vocational skills. The Bugville stories were written to represent the diverse peoples of our world. Mr. Stanek wrote the books as bedtime stories for his own children because they weren't represented in picture books. He wrote the books to show everything he wanted to see in the world and everything he wanted them to see in the world. And he wanted children everywhere to discover a love for the natural world around us. Mr. Stanek illustrates using watercolors to create beautiful, vibrant scenes full of wonderful color. As a partially disabled veteran and father of a daughter with Downs Syndrome, he is a vocal champion of veterans and the disabled. He also is a champion of books and libraries, frequently donating his time and resources to support related causes. Learn more at www.williamrstanek.com.
