- Book Synopsis
- Industrial Flow Measurement is a practical, well-illustrated guide that introduces engineers and technicians to the processes of measuring liquid and gas flow in industrial systems. Written for readers from technicians to managers, this book explains fluid properties (temperature, pressure, viscosity and density), performance measures (accuracy, repeatability and turndown) and how environmental and piping conditions affect measurements. It reviews the major flowmeter technologies, including differential pressure, magnetic, Coriolis mass, ultrasonic, vortex, positive displacement, turbine, thermal and open-channel methods, providing clear descriptions of how each works, typical applications, sizing and installation guidance and maintenance concerns. This book emphasizes practical selection procedures, calibration and real-world constraints, enabling users to choose the best meter for a given process. This edition includes exercises, examples and reference data that serve as useful resources for anyone involved in industrial flow measurement and selection.
