- About The Author
- Jeremiah Curtin was born in 1835 in Detroit, Michigan, to parents David Curtin and Ellen Furlong. During his life, he often travelled to Ireland, fascinated by the connection between language and folklore. These voyages led him to write Myths and Folklore of Ireland (1889), as well as Hero-Tales of Ireland (1894) and many other books that preserved and celebrated Irish folkloric tradition.
