- Book Synopsis
- Comprehension skills are at the heart of 11+ and Common Entrance exams, such as those set by the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM, University of Cambridge), the Independent Schools Examinations Board (ISEB) and by the schools themselves. The comprehension section of these exams typically contains a passage and a variety of questions that test understanding, inference ability, logical reasoning, grammar, vocabulary and reading techniques. This book contains four exams, each with a passage of contemporary literature, awarding 30 marks and designed to be completed in 30 minutes. The questions in this book are representative of the range of different question styles found in a typical standard comprehension exam paper. Full explanations on how to achieve the highest marks per question are included. Extensively road-tested by ElevenPlusExams, all 11+ Essentials tests are perfect for use in the classroom and at home.
