John Gentry, a humorist poet, lives and writes in Ojai, California. He is retired after some 40 years in public and private education, the U.S. Navy and various other occupations and travels. In what he calls 'this age of rhyme and meterless free verse' he continues his efforts to reverse the literary trends of the present and revive the days when a widely acclaimed poem was determined by how many non-poet readers memorized and shared its lines, rather than by the number of poetry journal editors handing out awards for it. He is in his 89th year in 2023 and is no kind of victim or perpetrator as found in the pages of this book. Comments welcome at [email protected]
