- About The Author
- Oscar Wilde was a famous Irish writer born in 1854. He loved books, stories and making people laugh with clever words. He wrote plays, poem and magical fairy tales like 'The Happy Prince', as well as a famous novel called The Picture of Dorian Gray. Many of his plays, including 'The Importance of Being Earnest', are still performed today. After his release from prison, where he was sentenced to hard labour because of his romantic relationship with another man, he died in France aged 46.
