- About The Author
- John Mangan is Professor of Marine Transport and Logistics at the School of Engineering, Newcastle University, and Visiting Professor at Trinity College Dublin. His 30-year career in the logistics sector spans roles in government, management development, consultancy, and academia. Mangan has published extensively on global logistics and transportation dynamics, pioneering concepts such as port-centric logistics and the self-thinking supply chain. Agustina Calatayud is Lead Transport Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank, focusing on transportation and logistics in Latin America. She leads IDB's research agenda on sustainable and inclusive transport systems. Agustina holds a PhD from Newcastle University and master's degrees from UC Berkeley and the University of Padua. Her award-winning research has been recognized by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the European Logistics Association. Chandra Lalwani is Emeritus Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Hull. He has held positions as Visiting Professor at Newcastle University and Adjunct Professor at RMIT University, Australia. He is a former Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Logistics Management. His research interests include digital supply chains, decarbonization, and circular economy impacts on logistics.
