Woodland mayhem meets an unwelcome species
Jamie Smart keeps the energy feral and the punchlines wonderfully throwaway, which is exactly the charm of the series. This collection is bright, fast and joyfully silly, with the woods once again becoming a stage for escalating nonsense and visual comic timing.

- Book Synopsis
-
Ideal for readers who:
- Love fast, funny comics with absurd escalations on every page
- Enjoy Bunny and Monkey stories where woodland order collapses instantly
- Prefer highly visual books that suit confident and reluctant readers
- Want anarchic humour with creatures, gadgets and complete chaos
The Human Invasion throws another fresh source of disorder into Jamie Smart’s already unstable woodland world. As ever, the pleasure lies in how quickly tiny problems become vast comic disasters, with Bunny, Monkey and company reacting in the least sensible ways possible.
The remastered chunky format makes it especially inviting for younger readers who want energy over quietness and punchline over pause. It is a very easy recommendation for fans of comics that never sit still for long.
- About The Author
- Jamie Smart studied art at college for four years, but it was just an excuse to practise drawing animals with boggly-eyes. His comic Fish-Head Steve was the first comic to be shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. Jamie has illustrated comics for The Sunday Times, the Dandy and the Beano. His well-loved Bunny vs Monkey and Looshkin stories are regularly published in The Phoenix comic, and as bestselling graphic novels. Jamie is also the author of the illustrated middle-grade Flember series.
