Thriller and Suspense

A thriller or suspense novel is a plot-driven story that is action-packed and fast paced. They can have a lot in common with a crime novel - but in crime or mystery novels, there is a focus on the investigation and how the crime is solved. In a thriller, the mystery to be solved takes second place to the action. If you love a good plot twist and a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, chances are you're already a fan of thriller books.  In a thriller or suspense novel, the stakes are high, the characters are complex, and the truth may not be as it first appears. The late John Le Carré is regarded as one of the finest writers of spy and espionage thrillers, while Lee Child's Jack Reacher series combines elements of adventure fiction and hard boiled crime. If a psychological thriller sounds more appealing, author Liz Nugent or the Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell could be the perfect choice.
