The Burbot

by Mark Everard | 30 September 2021
Hardback
The burbot is the second most widely distributed freshwater fish in the Northern Hemisphere. However, the burbot probably became extinct in the UK in the 1970s with the last record specimen being caught in 1969 in Cambridgeshire. It is the only member of the cod family found in freshwater. Details of the burbot, and also some reintroduction and recovery schemes across the broad geographical range - northern America and northern Eurasia - make the book of interest in these geographical areas.
