Week seven has arrived for our Eason Spelling Bee and once again our team is back on the road. Our Spelling Bee Team made their way to Dublin, Meath and Louth to see what the competition would have in store for them this week. Once again, our team were in high spirits and excited to meet all participants. Check out all the details below and find out who was crowned Spelling Bee County champions.
On Tuesday 2nd April our Spelling Bee Team made their way to the Cartlon Hotel to host the Dublin Spelling Bee. This was one of our largest County Spelling Bee Competitions to date and it was great to see all participants and their supports in high hopes. A total of 73 spellers battled it out to be crowned our Dublin County Champion and they didn’t disappoint. The standard of spelling once again was extremely high with Jamie Caldwell from Scoil Cholmcille, Donaghmede scooping our top prize and was crowned our Dublin Spelling Bee champion. Jamie is an avid reader and enjoys reading the Alex Rider series. Jamie will now go on to represent Dublin in the Leinster Final on Tuesday 21st May.

Day two of week seven and our Spelling Bee team are making the journey to St. Mary’s Primary School, Trim. Spirits are high within the team and they are looking forward to a strong competition. A total of 32 spellers completed in the Meath Spelling Bee Final in order to be crowned the overall winner. Michael Padden from Rathregan National School, Dunboyne, Co. Meath scooped our top prize after a very impressive display of spelling. Michael has recently enjoyed reading Hardy Boys by Franklin W. Dixon. Michael will now move onto the Leinster Finals on Tuesday 21st May.

Our final Spelling Bee event of the week and our Spelling Bee team are on the road again to Monastery National School, Ardee, Co. Louth. A total of 19 spellers took part on the day and the standard of spelling was extremely high. Conall Halpenny from Ballapousta National School, Ardee, Co. Louth was crowned our Louth County Champion. Conall recently enjoyed reading The Lie Will Kill You by Chelsea Pitcher. Conall will now go on to represent Louth in the Leinster Final on Tuesday 21st May.
