All-Ireland Final 2019

Thursday 13th June was a day that will live long in our memories as we crowned our 2019 Eason Spelling Bee Champion. The Spelling Bee Team welcomed our four finalists and their supporters to The Helix, Dublin for what turned out to be an exceptional competition. We were joined on the day by Alison Curtis and the Today FM team. Make sure to tune into Weekend Breakfast on Today FM this Saturday where Alison will be chatting about her Bee highlights.

Our four amazing finalists did their Provinces proud while battling it out to win the ultimate prize of €7,500 worth of library books for their school, a €500 Gift card for themselves along with the title of Eason Spelling Bee Champion 2019!

Here is a look at our four fantastic All-Ireland Final spellers.

The excitement could be felt around the room as all four of our fantastic spellers showed us exactly why they had been crowned school, county and provincial champions. After many tense rounds of incredible spelling, Fionn O’Leary from Gortletteragh National School, Leitrim came out on top and was crowned the 2019 Eason Spelling Bee Champion.

Now in its 9th year, 2019 has been another brilliant year for The Eason Spelling Bee Competition. After travelling around all 32 counties of Ireland over the past 5 months it is sad to see the competition come to an end. It was fantastic to find an excellent champion in Fionn. Our three talented runners up should be extremely proud of themselves as they too put up a worthy fight. They do not go home empty-handed; each runner up has won €3,000 worth of library books for their school and a €250 Eason Gift Card for themselves.

We would also like to give a massive thank you to everybody who helped along the way to make the competition a great success. It really has been an excellent year for the Spelling Bee.

We are now looking forward to the 2020 Eason Spelling Bee and we hope to welcome you all back again next year for our 10th Anniversary.
