As we moved into our third week of the Eason Spelling Bee, our Spelling Bee Team went back on the road to visit another three schools within the Leinster region. Offaly, Westmeath and Longford were the destinations for the week. Our Spelling Bee Team were in high hopes and looking forward to meeting all our wonderful spellers. Thursday 13th June was a day that will live long in our memories as we crowned our 2019 Eason Spelling Bee Champion. The Spelling Bee Team welcomed our four finalists and their supporters to The Helix, Dublin for what turned out to be an exceptional competition. We were joined on the day by Alison Curtis and the Today FM team. Make sure to tune into Weekend Breakfast on Today FM this Saturday where Alison will be chatting about her Bee highlights.
Our last provincial final of 2019 saw our Spelling Bee Team travel to Cork on Thursday 6th June for the Munster Provincial Final. The competition took place in our Eason store, St. Patrick Street, Cork. We were all on the edge of our seats as six fantastic spellers battled it out against each other to win the Munster Champion title. On the day we were joined by Alison Curtis and the Today FM team – make sure to tune into Weekend Breakfast on Today FM where Alison will be reporting on the Provincial and All-Ireland finals.
The Spelling Bee Team were in Galway last week for the Connacht Provincial Final. The competition took place in our Eason store, Galway Shopping Centre, Headford Rd. We were on the edge of our seats as five fantastic spellers spelt it out against each other to win the Connacht Champion title. At the competition we were joined by Alison Curtis and the Today FM team – make sure to tune into Weekend Breakfast on Today FM where Alison will be reporting on the Provincial and All-Ireland finals.
May 23rd marked the second day of our Eason Spelling Bee Provincial Finals. The competition took place in our Eason Store, Donegall Place, Belfast. Nine fantastic spellers gathered in our Eason store to spell it out against each other in what was to be a magnificent Provincial Final. We were joined by Kirstie McMurray from Cool FM/Downtown Radio who was there to report on the competition.
May 21st marked the first day of our Eason Spelling Bee Provincial Finals. The competition took place in our Eason Store, O’Connell Street, Dublin. Twelve fantastic spellers gathered downstairs in our Eason store to spell it out against each other in what was to be a magnificent Provincial Final. We were joined by Alison Curtis from Today FM who was there to report on the competition. Alison will be giving a brief of the competition on her show on Today FM which is broadcasted on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
As we entered our final week of our Eason Spelling Bee County Finals, our Spelling Bee team travelled to the North of the country. Our Spelling Bee Team were in high spirits and were eagerly anticipating meeting all participants. Our destinations for week ten were Antrim, Derry and Donegal. It’s the ninth week of our Eason Spelling Bee and our Spelling Bee Team are back on the road after the Easter holidays to meet all our amazing participants. Our Spelling Bee Team were looking forward to meeting all participants and hearing their stories from their Easter break. Our destinations for week nine were Monaghan, Armagh and Down.
