My rock

My friends screamed at me not to go into the water - I should have listened ¬- I entered and was immediately swept away. I tried to fight the waves, but they were too big for me, and I succumbed to the strength of the water. Suddenly, I realised that I did have more fight left in me, so I kicked my legs furiously and broke free from the wave's embrace. In the distance I spotted a big rock - I kept my eyes focussed on this and swam strongly and without hesitation - there was no need for me to look back, only forwards, as I realised there was nothing back there for me.
