Join dietitian Paula Mee and Ted Dinan, Professor of Psychiatry, University College Cork for an informative in conversation event to celebrate the launch of Paula’s latest book Mediterranean Mood Food: What to Eat to Help Beat Depression and Live a Longer, Healthier Life, in Eason O’Connell Street.
For many years we have known that the traditional Mediterranean diet has numerous physical health benefits including reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes. Now, new evidence suggests that this pattern of eating can substantially reduce the risk of depression, with growing research showing that following a Mediterranean-based diet is associated with better gut health and, subsequently, mental health.
Inspired by this new research, and focusing on the link between food, mood and mental health, Paula Mee and Professor Dinan will be discussing the beneficial traits of eating a Mediterranean based diet, how it is linked to good gut health and how effective this can be on mood and mental health.
Ticket price is €20. Included in this is one copy of Mediterranean Mood Food (RRP €19.99), expert advice and a Q & A opportunity with Paula Mee and Ted Dinan, as well as some refreshments and delicious food samples from the book.
