About Suzanne Collins

American author Suzanne Collins was born in 1962 and studied Theatre and Communications at university. She has a Master of Fine Arts degree in dramatic writing from New York University. She began her professional career as a writer for children's television (including the hit show Clarissa Explains It All) but is best known as the author of The Hunger Games book series. The first book in The Hunger Games trilogy was published in 2008 with Catching Fire and Mockingjay published in 2009 and 2010 respectively. The books were an instant hit, and Suzanne was named one of Time Magazine's most influential people of 2010. The books have also been adapted into hit movies and her books have sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
