American author Cormac McCarthy was born in 1933 and is the author of many acclaimed novels, including The Road and Blood Meridian. Initially, he attended the University of Tennessee, but dropped out in 1951 to join the US Air Force. His first novel, The Orchard Keeper, was published in 1965. Among his honours are the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the PEN/Saul Bellow Award for lifetime achievement in American literature.
Cormac McCarthy passed away on 13th June 2023 at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
This autumn sees the publication of two brand new novels by Cormac McCarthy, his first since The Road in 2006. The Passenger, the first of the two new novels, will be published on October 25. Stella Maris, the second book, will be published on November 22. A box set of both volumes will be published on December 6. The novels, set eight years apart, tell one grand story of siblings Bobby and Alicia Western.
